Custom Continuous Fryer Successfully Ordered by a Colombian Snack Factory
This case focuses on a food manufacturing enterprise in Colombia, which mainly provides high-quality prepared food for small and medium-sized retailers, large restaurants and hotels. The customer is committed to producing fresh Empanadas with corn as raw material. In order to meet the growing market demand and ensure the consistency of products, customers urgently need an continuous fryer that can seamlessly access their existing natural gas system and meet the local special voltage requirements.

Through in-depth technical discussion and parameter comparison, we tailored a semi-automatic continuous frying solution with a capacity of 50 kg/h, equipped with an advanced Lifting System to simplify the cleaning process.
At present, the equipment has completed the drawing confirmation and officially entered the production stage. This case will analyze the customer’s considerations in equipment selection, heat source configuration and international logistics planning in detail.
Customer Requirements
In the preliminary technical communication, our engineering team made a comprehensive evaluation of the actual production environment and process requirements of customers.
Unlike ordinary frozen French fries or meat pieces, freshly made corn Empanadas is extremely sensitive to the temperature fluctuation at the moment of oil entry. The core needs of customers are not only reflected in the production capacity, but also focused on the stability of the process and the matching degree of the factory infrastructure.

- Capacity and Product State: The customer clearly stated that the target production capacity of this production line is 50 kg/h. More crucially, the products are freshly made and fried directly, rather than frozen semi-finished products. This requires that the continuous fryer must have strong heat recovery ability to prevent the oil absorption rate of dough from being too high or damaged due to the sudden drop of temperature when it is in oil.
- Energy and Infrastructure Compatibility: As a food processing factory with a certain scale, the customer workshop has been equipped with a perfect natural gas circulation system. Therefore, the equipment must adopt natural gas heating mode to maximize the utilization of existing infrastructure and reduce the long-term operating cost (OPEX). In addition, the local industrial voltage standard in Colombia is three-phase 220V 60Hz, which requires that as an industrial equipment manufacturer, we must make nonstandard customization for the electric control cabinet and internal motor.
- Long-Term Expansion Plans: The customer has a clear strategic plan. The 50 kg/h equipment purchased this time is regarded as a Sample to some extent. The customer plans to purchase three more production lines after verifying our machine quality and system stability. This prudent procurement strategy is very typical in large-scale B2B procurement.
Challenges Identified
In the process of purchasing transnational heavy equipment, buyers usually face multiple technical and commercial risks. Through detailed communication, we identified three core pain points of customers in the process of project promotion

1. Cross-Border Procurement Trust and Qualification Review
For overseas suppliers who cooperate for the first time, customers show a high awareness of risk prevention before paying the deposit. They not only need to confirm whether we can deliver on time, but also need to verify whether we are the original factory and have relevant export qualifications. The customer clearly stated that it is necessary to check the company’s business license, authentication documents and past case records of export to Colombia.
2. Technical doubts of constant temperature control system
Fresh corn dough is easy to produce crumbs during frying, and it is very picky about oil temperature. Customers are very worried about whether the whole machine can maintain the temperature consistency in continuous operation. If the response of the temperature control system is slow, it will directly lead to uneven color of the product, which will seriously affect its terminal sales in high-end hotels and restaurants.
3. International Logistics and Delivery Pressure
The customer hopes to receive the equipment and put it into use before November. In terms of trade terms, customers initially hesitated between CIF and FOB. Although we provided a very competitive CIF scheme, our customers finally chose to use local freight forwarders in Colombia for FOB transportation, in order to gain higher autonomy in customs clearance and local trailer. How to reduce the production cycle under the premise of ensuring non-standard customization (voltage transformation) has become our main challenge.
Our Technical Recommendation
Based on customers’ strict requirements for product quality and the existing natural gas network of the factory, our technical team recommended the 2.5m Continuous Frying Machine (upgraded version) with automatic lifting function.
The machine adopts an independent circulating heating & temperature-control system. Real-time monitoring of oil temperature by high-precision sensors, combined with Electronic ignition system, can automatically cut off the gas supply once it reaches the set temperature.
This design not only ensures the uniform heating of Empanadas surface, but also effectively reduces gas consumption.
Therefore, we strongly recommend that customers adopt an upgraded model with an automatic Lifting System. The operator can easily lift the mesh belt bracket through the one-button lifting button on the control panel, and thoroughly flush the bottom of the oil tank with high pressure. This design perfectly conforms to the highest hygienic standard (HACCP) in the field of Food Processing Machine.
